Harini and Abhijit are a voice/guitar duo that focus on traditional and improvisational music seasoned with contemporary influences. Their interest span Carnatic, Jazz and Latin American music, aiming to bring the emotional core of each of these genres to fresh audiences.

Harini Iyer
 

Harini is a classically trained Carnatic vocalist, a singer song-writer and an arranger from Chennai/ Boston. She is currently on her gap year from studying Contemporary Music and Production at Berklee College of Music in Boston. She blends raga and jazz idioms into something fresh and exciting and aims at transcending genres and styles. Apart from Carnatic and Jazz she also draws influences from Neo-Soul and RnB. 

 She is a self taught contemporary western vocalist and has been formally trained in Carnatic music for 12 years, and the classical Indian dance form Bharatnatyam for 15 years. She grew up doting on Bombay Jayasree, TM Krishna and Aruna Sriram and draws inspiration from them.  She was invited by the Mediterranean Music Institute to perform in the Rhythm of the Lorca Berklee Performance Center show featuring  the world renowned cajon player Israel  “El Piraña” Suarez and was featured on the radio podcast  “Hoy Por Hoy/ Cadena SER“ with Latin Grammy-Winner Javier Limon. 

As an Indian Raga Fellow, she was one of the opening artists for Arijit Singh at the Shoreline Auditorium in California.

 She has also performed with Shreya Ghoshal, Vadim Neselovskyi and Tigran Hamasyan among others.

Abhijit Nath
 

Abhijit Nath is a guitarist, amateur sarod player. composer and arranger based in Bangalore, India. His primary interests are modal forms of music, and how they can interact in unusual harmonic contexts. A few years ago, he decided to study this interaction more deeply and studied jazz composition at the Berklee College of Music, Boston. He is currently working on a few projects that meld Carnatic music with dense jazz, baroque & 20th century classical, and minimalism. His influences include Steve Reich, John McLaughlin, the ECM Records roster, Tigran Hamasyan,Bill Evans, Lalgudi Jayaraman, Ustad Amir Khan, and JS Bach.
